A wonderful early 1900s wooden ratchet noise maker with a pumpkin-headfigure. The headis hand painted, molded compositionconstruction with a black and orange crepe ruffle surrounding the neck, and afelt skirt. The rest of the clown’s body is made of wood. Thewood and wire style ratchetisfully functional and loud. Overall height, from the bottom of theratchet handle to the top of the clown’s hat is approximately 10 inches and itis approximately 5 inches wide. Itis marked Germanyas can be seen in the photo. Overallcondition is very good but there is a little piece out of one side of the clown’snose and some minor paint chipping.Please see photos for the condition.This piece is totally original; it has not been restored orretouched.
