Members of the Minnesota Decoy and Wildfowl Carving Club have taught over 800 kids ages 3 through 16 to carve duck decoys. This Drake Canvasback is being sold to provide funds to continue this program. Payment for this decoy is not tax deductible.

As near as we have been able to discover, this decoy was carved during the 1940\'s by a bridge tender in Northern Minnesota. It hunted for many years as part of the Alfred Bailey Strand rig on Pelican Lake near Orr, MN. After his death he bequeathed the rig to his hunting partner Grover \"Grubby\" Gillespie. He gave it to me and I have repainted it. It is now in its first coat of colored paint - previously it had been dipped in black paint, a custom in Northern Minnesota. Dimensions: 16 1/2\" x 6 3/4\" x 7 1/2\". It is painted with oils and has glass eyes. Please call Denny at 651-261-2285 for more details. It is branded and retains its original keel.
