Sense the Eagle Lock Co. closed in 1975 and these are too old to be from 1992 ... we can assumethose dates are referring to: 1874, 1877, 1878, 1879, and 1892.

Used AS-IS Condition…. These are original antique hand cuff / shackles …they are very OLD, great shape for their age. The key works in one cuff fore sure... not sure about the other cuff ...afraid to break key so we haven\'t tried very hard to open other side.

About Eagle Lock Company

The Eagle Lock Company(established 1833), was at one time the largest trunk and cabinet lock maker inthe world. It was based in Terryville, CT. Eagle Lock was at the forefront ofpadlock security in its time. The main company was in Terryville,but they had opened another factory in Ohio.The factory had a manufacturingline of over 2000 different kinds of locks, a sales room was once operated onchambers street in New York City. ironically enough, the lock factory had firesvery often and burning down almost all of the wooden buildings instantly, whilethe Collinsville,Connecticut Axe factory had never even had one fire. The factory hadconsisted of one main office building, and later in 1889 and 1905, extra workspace was added including Two five story buildings on either side of theoffice. The factory had a boarding house on prospect street for Male employees,the boarding house was torn down in the early 1900s, many eagle lock workersand teachers lived here. The lock company housed four ponds including upperpond (now Terryville Fish and Game), middle pond (now privately owned), lowerpond (no longer in existence but once held water to power the Eli terrywaterwheel), and Reservoir One (once filling up all of the land behind thecongregational church and along eagle street, it was drained and removed aftera fire in 1978). The factory had had buildings where the Terryville Rite Aid is and where thenew park next to the waterwheel is. Today, only four of the buildings out ofsome 50 remain, only one of the buildings was not altered, while the otherthree were disconnected and had floors removed. The lock company finally wentout of business in 1975, due to a strike from the remaining employees, theemployees were honored for over 65 years of laboring work in the towns 175thannual birthday.[1]
