Nice antique Mission/Arts and Craftsstyle, steel/cast iron heat register grate grille with louvers. The sides are cast iron, the top is steel or cast iron, not sure. Oldhouse salvage.This wonderful old register has some age andhas a stamped patent date of June 28, 1894. The unit includes the coverplate and a louver assembly underneath.The unit has good integrity but is quite rusty with peeling paint and itneeds rust removal and cleaning. Thelouvers are in good working order and are controlled by a thumb-slide mechanismwith a lever. The top of the grille measures approx. 9 3/4\"X 11 3/4\". From the front to back with louvers open it measures about 31/4\". The back raised area isapprox 7 ¼” X 9 ¼” so the unit likely fits an opening of about 8\" X10\". Selling as-is.

With some rust removal, cleaning,and new paint , this register would be a niceaddition to your home.
