ANTIQUE HM STERLING SILVER MOUNTED CROCODILE SKIN CARD CASE/ WALLET - 1900:
$111.84

For your consideration a gents crocodile leather card case or wallet with sterling silver English hallmarked mounts, that dates to the end of the Victorian era. Please view the pictures above as they hopefully show all in detail. The frame of the case is probably silver plate or similar. The silver mounts bear the makers mark \'CPB\' for Charles Penny Brown, the anchor for Birmingham, the lion denoting sterling silver, and the date letter \'a\' for 1900. Hallmarks rubbed but readable. The case measures 13 cms by 9.3 cms and an average sized business card will fit either side. The outer crocodile leather is in wonderful condition, given that it\'s 117 years old. Inside, there is a small tear that I\'ve tried to picture above. In this area three of the small \'rivets\' that join the frame and leather are missing; and one near to the clasp. The clasp works fine as does the hinge, and the case is fully functional and useable as is. The plated frame is rather tarnished and worn. The interior, probably calfskin, again is a little worn and discoloured, but all as expected commensurate with age and handling.Free UK postage offered.I have lots of interesting silver listed in my shop; please take a look by clicking on the shop symbol above right.
