$24.99

•Clad\'s Disher - World\'s first mechanical ice cream server.

•Taken from an article from Cooks Illustrated: This Vintage Ice Cream Scoop-Clad\'s Disher was patented in 1876 by G. William Clewell of Reading, PA, and was manufactured by Valentine Clad, tinsmith of Philadelphia, PA.

•It was America\'s first mechanical Ice Cream Scoop and was invented to control the size of the scoop while creating a pleasing shape to the dip of ice cream served on plates or saucers in ice cream parlors.

•It required two hands to operate this early dipper - one on the handle, the other in turning the key to release the ice cream.

•Turn key and blades are in working condition.

•Clad\'s Disher is printed on the turning blade inside the cone. The E in Disher is partially worn and looks like an F. The R in Disher has completely worn off.

•Scoop is tarnished.

•The turn key is heart shaped.
