Description:Antique Imperial Russian set of five rare I.E. Kuznetsov porcelain factory in Volkhovo plates, the plates with molded borders glazes a deep magenta or aubergine red, with the blue factory stamp on the underside. Ivan Emilianovich Kuznetsov, a member of the multigenerational barons of ceramic production in late Imperial Russia, founded three ceramics factories in Northwest Russia after 1880 in the cities of Volkhovo, Bronnitsy, and Gruzino near the city of Novgorod. The factories produced a wide variety of high-quality wares for middle-class and upper-middle class buyers until the 1918 Revolution. Once nationalized, these Novgorod area factories partnered with artists from the former Imperial factories on new designs for mass 7 1/4 inches
