Antique Islamic Seljuk Turkish Bronze Situla metal pail, hand-chased Bronzed copper on Silver pot with handle and Storyteller design around pail with scenes of of horse man hunting in the wild. This situla pail is hand forged with ribbon-like style edge around rim. This old Middle Eastern Turkish hold-over-handled situla pail was likely used for pouring water or wine sometime as early as the 9th Century. Please look at the photos for more details. Measurements: Stands about 8 inches tall and is approx 6 1/2 inches diameter across the top rim to rim, and about 7 1/2 inch wide to edge of handle, base measures about 7 inches wide, and body is about 19 inches around the center. Bottom of this pot has with what looks like a marking but cannot tell- otherwise no other makers marks. Heavy- Weighs more than 2 lbs. Very nice antique condition as shown in posted photos~ some typical light scuffs and scratches as with age. This piece would make a very nice addition to any Middle East collection~ Every reasonable offer will be considered.
