This listing is for an Antique Japanese Bamboo IKEBANA BASKET that has a Metal insert inside.-(commonly referred to as \'tin\', though it is made from steel with a tin coating)
This basket is in the shape of an urn/Vase with round handles on each side.
This item was recently purchased from an estate, and I believe it dates to the late 19th Century.
I am not an expert in Oriental antiques so please see images, and ask any questions you have Prior to offerding.-I will do what I can to answer them for you.

SPECIFICATIONS:
This is a USED/PRE-OWNED Item -See Below for Condition Report.
Material: Bamboo, metal insert (steel), wire reinforcements in some areas -some visible on bottom of the basket -see images.
Signed: No marks that I can find Dimensions: This item measures about 12\" - 12 1/4\" or so tall from the bottom of the basket to the upper edge of the basket.
**This item sits CROOKED.
the upper opening Diameter measures about 3 3/8\" x 3 1/2\"(measuring the INSIDE Diameter of the metal Tin insert) --it is NOT perfectly round.
This basket measures right around 8 3/4\"-9\" or so in diameter at the largest point of the basket (around the lower/middle of the basket)
give or take a bit on dimensions.
this item is in vintage condition with signs of age/wear and use.

This basket sits CROOKED (it tilts to one side) -see images.
This basket is made from bamboo and the bamboo has breaks, splits, dings, nicks, and areas of missing bamboo -see close images.
This basket is dirty, dusty, and has patina and discoloration on it.
there is wire reinforcement in this basket as well, and you can see some of the wire reinforcement on the bottom of this basket -see images.
The insert is made from metal and the metal has patina, discoloration, rust and signs of age/wear -see images.
The tin coating on the insert is worn, missing etc. and has areas of rust etc. -see images.
All in all, I would have to say that this item is in vintage condition with signs of age/wear and use.
