CONDITION/DESCRIPTION:
Up for sale we have a beautiful Christ Child painting in an original early 19th century Lemon Gold Gilt frame. I will start off by telling you about the frame.

The frame is in excellent condition with only mild wear. Overall size is 26 7/8\" x 23 7/8\". There are some clues that lead us to believe the frame is from the late 18th century or early 19th century. The first is that it is original gold leaf. The gold leaf does not go all the way to the back edge of the frame (the part that sits against the wall). Also, on the back of the frame, the joints have been carved or trenched out which is also something that would have been done in early times. Frame condition is exceptional and has a mild patina. Very bright and beautiful!

The painting was originally found in this frame. Oil on board. It looks amazing and has a nice glow to it. The painting compliments the frame very well. There is no crazing and it has very fine brush strokes. Not signed. We estimate the painting from the same time period but are not exactly sure of the age. It features the Christ Child holding the passion flower with thron crown. This is very symbolic of embracing your burden (thorn crown) in life, and you will find your place in life (passion flower).
