Antique Judaica German Havdalah Plate Hassidic Jewish Jerusalem Israeli Shabbos:

A beautiful plate used at the end or during the Havdalah ceremony. This moment of sadness was greeted with something sweet to eat. These Havdalah plates were often used to serve cookies and cakes at the end of the Sabbath ceremony. The plate is hand-painted and says in Hebrew around the circumference \"Good deeds were created by the Lord to elevate our expectations of ourselves.\" The ceramic plate has Hebrew in the middle of the Star of David which says \"Have a good week and have a good year\". The language is Yiddish. The plate is large for this type and is in superb condition. The letter on the lower left, which looks like a box, has a scratch in the top right and middle bottom. The back is stamped Hutschenreuther, which was a factory in Germany. There is not a single chip or crack in/on the entire plate. Being on the large side, it measures 9 1/2\" in diameter. These plates have become increasingly rare.
