Offering a antique German 8 day mantle clock from the Junghans company with the Westminster chimes
The clock is 23 inches wide, 12 and 1/2 inches tall and 7 and 1/2 inches deep. Big heavy clock!
The clock movement has been cleaned and tested so is in good operating condition
The movement is marked with the Junghans symbol and the model number B21
The clock plays the Westminster melody at each quarter hour and then also counts the number of the hour on the hour
The wood case has the original finish and is in very good condition. There are a few minor scuffs in places but very modest for the age
The dial is metal with raised brass numbers and in very good condition. On right side of dial is a chime shut off lever
The glass over the dial is beveled, in good shape and the brass bezel shuts correctly
Rear door also operates correctly
The pendulum is probably not original to the clock but works fine. Key has some age,fits fine but may not be original
Strangely the chime rod set is marked with a USA stamp. Not sure if Junghans ever imported rod sets from the US or if this is a replacement but in either case the rods sound good and fit the case and movement fine
