Large Antique Habille Cameo Brooch 14K White Gold Filigree Diamond Necklace 15.1 grams

Superb, elegant large habille natural shell oval cameo brooch marked 14K.

High level of craftsmanship with crisp details and beautiful aesthetics and design.

The portrait is of a woman with beautiful wavy hair in a marcelled style, wearing a beaded headband.

The natural color of the shell provides beautiful accents to the design.

She offers the viewer a glimpse of her bare right shoulder, while fully blooming roses adorn her left.

Around her neck is a delicate diamond necklace. The necklace chain leads to a very nicely detailed pendant containing a diamond.

The surrounding bezel is contoured to the cameo, with the sides being less deep than the top and bottom.

A frame of beautiful filigree is accented with a floral motif at the top and bottom and on both sides.

(The photos of the diamond are unretouched. They were shot under halogen kitchen lights with no flash. The diamond has beautiful sparkle and light to it. Please remember that the lighting in your Environment will affect the appearance of the diamond. Compact fluorescent lights make many stones look dull.)

Overall dimensions are 2.25\" x 1.75\" and about 1/2\" deep.

The pin back is in excellent shape. The locking clasp is very delicate and locks well. The 14K mark appears on the safety clasp.

The pendant loop is likewise in excellent shape. It is sturdy and well-attached and can be deployed or tucked down with ease.

There are light signs of wear visible with a loupe, but no dents or scratches. As is typical with natural cameos, the bezel varies from geometric perfection in that it follows the line of the cameo shell itself.

There is what appears to be some glue on the back inside the bezel in one place. There are a few small fissures in that area of the back. Please study all the photos. I had not noticed these at all until I saw photographs under extreme magnification.

This is an exceptional piece that will draw much appreciation and admiration.

It is a most worthy addition to your collection or a magnificent gift for that special someone.

Note: Based on my research and all evidence, I believe this to be 14K white gold. It is marked thus, and similar filigree cameos with the same clasp and mark are identified as 14K white gold. Please use your own judgment on this piece. I am not a jeweler and not an expert.
