Antique Large Gilt Framed Oil Painting Near Balloch Loch Lomond Scotland by F. Hiamcirca 1890 Here we have a very well executed andextremely decorative antique oilpainting of a lake and mountains scene. The idyllic landscape is identifiableas near Balloch, Loch Lomond, Scotland, United Kingdom- written in pencil on the back, probably by the artist.There is an artist signature in the bottom left hand corner that is quite hard to decipher but looks like F. Hiam.There is a title on the reverse of the canvas, Amid The Everlasting Hills.The Everlasting Hills is referenced in the bible Genesis 49:26 and a hymn of this name was written by Fanny Crosby (words) and Ira Sankey in 1899.The painting has clearly been produced by a skilled hand and this is the work of a talented and confident artist.The landscape shows a calm lake in the foreground with a rocky outcrop and woods to the left, in which four figures, possibly children, are playing.In the background are the mountains or everlasting hills referred to in the title, shrouded in cloud. The canvas measures 19 1/2 inches by 11 1/2 inches and in its original gilded frame, 25 1/2 inches by 17 1/2 inches.It weighs approx 2723g unpacked.Please note that due to its packaged size and weight we cannot post this internationally by Royal Mail.We have given indicative courier costs for each country, but this may vary significantly depending on your location.
