This is a SPectacular Victorian Papier Mache Tray, with a wonderful red fox who looks right at you as he slowly walks through the forest. Just a wonderful subject!

The actual center picture is quite a bit darker than it appears in the pictures. I took these pictures outside, where the painting really lit up from the sun. But in the house, the pictureof the fox is darker, looking as though he is walking through the forest at night time.

The tray is scallop shaped and probably covered with shellac, which accounts for the darkening. The swirling decorations along the sides are most likely gold leaf.

Size is: 18.5 x 24 inches

It comes with an attached hanger.
