Beautiful antique countertop flower seed sales box. Produced by Rice\'s of Cambridge, New York. The box measures 5 7/8\" wide x 5 1/8\" deep x 4 1/4\" tall. Inside dimensions are 5 1/4\" wide x 4 1/4\" deep x 3 5/8\" tall. The box is constructed of 5/16\" thick oak and uses finger joints for strength. Bottom is 1/8\" thick solid poplar or maple. Original decorative brass hinges and clasp on front are in good working order. Box was refinished with several coats of MinWax Satin Varnish and polished with 0000 steel wool and paste-wax to a soft luster. Inside of lid used to have a colorful label with a scenic image and lists of the contents on the sides and bottom edge of lid. A few fragments of the contents lists are still attached to the box. Lid closes normally. All joints are solid. Cork pads were to the bottom to protect your furniture. Purple felt is attached to acid free board and can be removed.
