The book is in good condition for its age (almost 300 years). It has various wear marks, some separation of the leather at the top. The front cover has separated, but is still held to the book by the underlying binding attachments. The first blank page is separated. All other pages are attached. The spine is in relatively good condition with no separation.

Decimus Iunis Iuvenalis, known in English as Juvenal, was a Roman poet active in the late 1st and early 2nd century A.D.

This book was previously owned by and bears a label with the coat of arms of Francis Enys.

Francis Enys was the High Sheriff of Cornwall, United Kingdom, in 1876. The Enys family has been prominent in Cornwall since recorded time.
