This Sweet Little Doll is a very Rare, sought after Baby Peggy doll. These doll were among the very first dolls made in the image of a childhood movie star. Diana Serra Cary, more commonly known as Baby Peggy or Baby Peggy Montgomery was one of the very first widely know child stars of the silent film era and was dubbed \"The Million Dollar Baby\" because of her record breaking salary.
Standing just 2.75\" tall, this little cutie is the very smallest BABY PEGGY ever made and really hard to find. GERMANY is clearly imprinted vertically down her back. She dates to the 1920s and still wears her original outfit with her sweet little gathered camisole undergarment, matching gathered sheer dress with beautiful detailed trim and adorable matching bonnet. She is all bisque, has jointed arms and cute painted Mary Jane shoes.
The doll is close to a century old and does have paint wear as well as discoloration to her very delicate clothes which remain intact but do show wear. Please take your time to examine all the pictures as they are a very important part of the description and most accurately show condition. To me, the color of the dress is more pale and not quite as yellow as it looks in some of the photos. Feel free to ask questions or for more pictures should you require them.
