Here are gorgeous all original composition Madame Alexander Swiss dolls from the 1930s. They are 9 inches tall with the Madame Alexander painted Little Betty/Wendy Ann face. The boy is marked Wendy Ann on his back but the girl just has the MME Alexander mark. Their tags are also slightly different. Their paint and wigs are all original except the girl may have had a tiny touch up to the white of one eye at some point in the past. If so it\'s skillfully done; the only reason I suspect it is a slight difference in the texture of the paint there. Their stringing is nice and tight and their bodies are in excellent shape. Both have had all over repair to light crazing. The dolls\' mohair wigs are nice and full and not matted. They both, especially the boy, have age-related spotting/discoloration to the areas of their arms and legs exposed to sun over the years. I decided not to paint over this to preserve the originality of their paint. You could still paint the arms and legs if the patina bothers you, but I feel it adds to the antique charm of the dolls.

The girl\'s dress bodice is disintegrating so I treated it with Fray Check and sewed the holes the best I could. I gave her a 1960s Madame scarf to help cover the holes. Both dolls\' socks and shoes are falling apart but if you leave them on the feet they should last a while longer. There is age discoloration all over. When you consider their age, though, the costumes are in very good and complete condition. The felt Tyrolean hats don\'t even have moth holes!
