Selling a beautiful antique majolica figural bear pitcher made by Joseph Holdcroft and likely dating to the 1880s. It measures 11 1/4\" tall and has great color, a crisp mold, and detailing throughout. This rare and ferocious-looking bear pitcher is in very good condition with no visual defects. You may notice the bear has three teeth, not four, but that\'s how Joseph Holdcroft made him (with three teeth). His glaze is uniform and very shiny. There is a very faint star-shaped hairline on the underside of the pitcher which is undetectable when it is in presentation position. Please see the photos. This pitcher has had minor professional invisible restoration to the tip of the scoop held by the bear and the top of the spoon on the handle.
