This is a unique antique Victorian Masonic Knights Templar men\'s ceremonial uniform apron probably from late 1800s thru early 1900s. This piece has an interesting early design with Silver Bullion embroidered trim & thick fringe and applied silver-tone metal Crossed Swords, Skull, Crossbones, and 3 stars each with cross cutout with red foil background on a front piece of black velvet. Lots of Masonic symbols on this piece. There are also 12 unusual ivory colored bone button settings with mostly missing cabochons, rhinestones and pearl like beads except for 2 center green glass cabochons, 5 clear rhinestones and 15 small pearl like (not sure if they are real or simulated) beads (you can glue in replacements from craft suppliers). The back is lined with a green silk. The waist straps are black grosgrain ribbon with a mother of pearl and gold-tone (probably brass) metal fastener. One strap is unattached so it is just pinned to apron. Measures approx.16.5\" wide x 17\" long without fringe. Fringe is 3\" long all around outer edge and 2\" long on edge of the upper flap. Only tear I can find is small one under one of the crossed sword blades and that same blade is a bit out of shape. Apron may be made by Ames Sword Co of Chicopee, MA as they made similar aprons but there are no identification markings or labels on this apron. My Mother brought it home in the 1970s from her church thrift shop in Hopkinton, NH as it was donated by elderly man\'s family and it\'s been in storage ever since. Free shipping within the U.S.
