This is a beautiful painting on ivory of Marie Antoinette. She has feathers on her hat and what looks like a pearl necklace. The painting is 2.25 inches in diameter with the total frame being 4.75 inches tall by about 4.5 inches. It was probably originally square, but the wood frame has shrunk slightly in width over the last couple of centuries. There are no cracks in it. But there is in the glass. I debated about replacing the glass myself, but since the back looks like it has never been opened up, I decided to let the next owner make that choice. When you get this, please look at it under a loupe (at least 20X). You can see the individual brush strokes and how exquisite this painting really is.
