Antique large Moro kris from the southern island of Mindanao in the Philippines. Probably Maguindanao work with an intricate gold washed filigree handle. Large Junggayan pommel with beautiful color. This type of kris would typically be carried by a Datu or noble. Scabbard top looks original but rest looks like later work (probably 1960\'s-70\'s work). Long straight old blade. Sword and handle date from the late 19th to early 20th century. Good condition- minor wear throughout. Measures 32 3/4\" overall. Sword measures 27 1/2\", blade measures 21 1/2\".
