Beautiful antique mother of pearl heraldic lion shield belt buckle.Features dark brass tone figural metal work surrounding a genuine opalescent seashell mother of pearl shield.There is an image of a Heraldic Medieval Lion, with crossed swords, and a crown above these swords, printed in gold atop the mother of pearl.

Body appears to be brass tone metal, but the metal has darkened and tarnished over time. This actually lends to the unique vintage character of this piece-I am honestly not sure if this could be polished back to brightness or not, but we are leaving that up to the new owner\'s discretion and selling this unadulterated.Please also note that this sale is for a belt bucklealone,no belt will be included.

Unsigned but the number \"1631\" is printed on the back. I\'m not an antique dealer, so I can\'t guess the exact age of this, but this piece does appear to be quite old and a lovely collectible! Definitely vintage at the very least, most likely old enough to be considered antique.

In terms of size, this belt buckle measures 2 3/4\" X 2\". Fits a 1.5\" belt.
