Antique Muller Volkstedt Germany \"Dresden Lace\" Figurine of a Ballerina DescriptionFOR SALE is this fantastic Antique porcelain figurine of a \"lace\" ballerina made and designed by the wonderful artist Anton Muller - Volkstedt Germany. His factory was completely destroyed during World War II and he himself was killed during this time.By the mid-nineteenth century, the Volkstedt factory began producing the famous lace figurines. Also known as \"Dresden lace,\" the effect was accomplished when real cotton lace was dipped in soft paste porcelain and then fired. The fabric burned away, leaving a fragile porcelain \"lace\" shell that, though delicate, could withstand the test of time given proper care. She is ever so dainty and elegant, the front of the lace dress has little pink and yellow roses, she is wearing blue shoes that match the blue on the top. She appears to be in perfect condition, however, examining under a magnifying glass there is a scratch mark (could be a very light hairline) on her neck - I have looked and looked, and sometimes I think I can see it, and other times not, you cannot see anything on the naked eye. I am disclosing this now as I do not want to have any complaints later, as I am quite happy to keep her for myself, if I was younger I would not even consider selling her!. I bought this from a deceased Estate and it was absolutely filthy. I have cleaned it to the best of my ability without causing any damage, but I did not clean the lace as it was not in the same filthy state, I just soaked it in soapy water for a couple of hours. It does look very clean, but if I were keeping this, I would probably get it cleaned or find out the best way to clean it professionally. She stands approx 14.5cm high x 10cm wide. Makers Mark of the Crown with an MV under depicts Anton Muller Volkstedt signature.Will be posted \"Sign For\" and Insured
