55\" x 80\"Handspun Wool weft and warp
With the early orange/red dye found more in the 1880-1890 \"transitional\" period; with fine, long-stapled Churro wool; of beautiful handling, carding and spinning of the wool; with cloud and mountain or lightning motif. Red fired and early style simple border using carged gray wool; natural deep brown and white wool; fine stratification of colors throughout the aniline dyed field and carded border.
Recently professionally cleaned and detailed.
A superb example. The slight off-balanced clouds against the carded field which is softly accented with the weavers lazy lines, reveal a naturalistic character to this weaving.
