AntiqueNippon Hand-Painted Plates with Sunset & Nuts

(circaafter 1920’s)

Three Porcelainplates from Nippon with hand-painted landscapes of sunset including differenttypes of decorative nuts.

Stamped in greenon the back with mark: “M” for Morimurainside a laurel wreath logo, by “Nippon” and above the marking are the words“Hand Painted” and below logo are the words “Made in Japan”.

Marks seems to have come in to use in theearly 1920’s. Until 1921, Noritakepredominately marked export wares “Nippon,” meaning Japan in Japanese. Backstamps after 1921 are marked “Japan” or “Made in Japan.”

All three (3) platesmeasure approximately 6 1/4\" in diameter. No chips/cracks or repairs and used onlyas display pieces in my Great Grandmother’s curio, aged naturally over time.

Color in photos isas true as possible using my amateur Canon digital camera and less than idealstudio lighting.

I am no expert.I’m simply selling items I inherited from my Great Grandmother’s estatedescribed to the best of my ability.
