A score from a local estate, this sterling (or coin silver) Navajo concho belt looks as old as the hills! (It looks like circa 1930\'s to me, but I am not an expert.) The belt has a primitive appeal with obviously hand stamped arrow graphics & geometric designs on slightly curved rectangles of very tarnished sterling or coin silver. There are 11 conchos, each measuring 2 1/8\" wide by 1 5/8\" tall.
The 11 silver conchos have silver soldered copper bands for attaching to the leather belt. They are adjustable in that they slide along the belt. I\'m guessing that the leather was originally white, but is now a pale gray. There is a buckle concho piece at the end, with a silver soldered hook. The entire leather belt measures 3 feet 6 inches long by 1\" wide. It is unmarked with no hallmarks or metal marks (as is appropriate for the age of the belt) and unpolished, with a dark patina. There is no damage & the silver is in very good condition. The weight of the belt is 217 grams or 7.65 ounces. offer with confidence... your satisfaction is guaranteed.
