Antique Composite Table Lamp

The pictures tell the story of this beautiful lamp much better than I will be able to do. The lamp stands 22" tall to the top of the chimney - mounted on a square cast iron base that measures 4.75" on each side. The Opalware glass stem is held on with brass fittings top & bottom - it is decorated with a Crane standing in a marsh surrounded with grasses and cattails - on a pale pink background - possibly made by Mt. Washington, Pairpoint, or the Smith Brothers or another of the Victorian Art Glass makers of the day.

The clear glass Font measures about 6" wide, 3" high - decorated with a frosted center band impressed with alternating Shamrocks or clovers and daisies. I have included a photo of the underside of the font - #10 below - what looks like a crack is actually a "straw mark" on the surface of the glass. You can also see the 3 mold marks that extend up the sides.

The brass Burner is marked on the top: NO.2 QUEEN ANNE NO.2 / \'22\' just above the hinge. The Adjuster is marked: SCOVILLE MFG CO. made in U.S.A. One tab that supports the chimney is missing, there is no wick included. A 4.25" wide shade ring is attached to the burner.

The Shade is frosted on the exterior with a recessed "GREEK KEY" design around the center. It stands 5.25" high, 7.5" across the top, 3.875" wide fitting (OS). There are tiny little imperfections around the top cut edge that look to be from the cutting - nothing distracting - might better be called "roughness" as the angle of the cut changed - I believe it is from the making - Does not fluoresce under black light.

A 10" tall clear glass Chimney is included

No Maker\'s mark found

Overall Condition: EXCELLENT - Previously Owned/Used antique Composite Table Lamp - wear to the finish on the iron base - no damage to any of the glass parts, missing one chimney tab on the burner, no wick - BEAUTIFUL!

Circa mid to late 19th Century
