Offering an old antique religious painting from a local estate. I believe this might be Saint Mary only because she was would with St James the Lesser.. She is a beautifully painted woman with a a gold tipped curlicue staff. She is holding a bible and there is a dramatic green cloth panel with gold accents behind her. The background depicts two commanding pillars. The painting appears to be Continental after an Old Master painting. Measurements: approx. 18 1/2 inches by 24 1/2 inches. Condition: much paint loss chipping to the far right hand side. Also please review all photos for other painting loss. There are a few small holes in the painting a two small white circles. One hole on the left hand side of the gray background also has paint loss below it, it is the most noticeable hole. Stored for many years by the former owner and not on display.
