WONDERFUL ANTIQUE RAYO OIL LAMP PATENT 1894, FEB 28 1905

ORIGINAL CONDITION WITH MILK GLASS SHADE AND CHIMNEY

This lamp is made by Rayo. The lamp has not been polished which then shows its correct age patina. It has the clear glass chimney and period correct milk glass shade. This lamp would be desirableto many different types of collectors fromcollectors of Machine Age, Art Deco, Antiques, Eames Era, Jet Age streamline or industrial items and would look Perfect in your house. I am getting rid of some great items as our house has become tooo cluttered, so check for other items i will be listing. ANY items shown in the background of photos are not included in the listing..

DIMENSIONS: The lamp at the base is ~6.5 inches wide, ~11.75 inches from the base to top of fitter for chimney, and ~19.5 inches high from base to top of chimney. The milk glass shade is ~9.75 inches diameter at the bottom and ~3.75 at the top.

DETAILS/CONDITION:This lamp is in good condition with the perfect patina. There are no repairs or breaks seen and no dents or dings. The Rayo fill cap screws. The wick is used and the wheel used to raise it does not turn, most likely since the wick is dry and carbonized at the top, with a little work and lubrication the wick should be able to be freed. The shade is in good condition and has a nice ring to it. There are no large chips, just some flea bites on the top ring, but if they were not polished from new the cut edge was always slightly rough. As seen in the last photo there is an area on the bottom of the milk glass shade that is either a slight unevenness from new or a chip was polished out at some time. Iam a collector of many eras however I am not an expert on any particular one and my knowledge only comes from research, so please ask any questions prior to purchasing!! The only thingI did to this is wiped it off from dust accumulation, from sitting in my living room along with all of my other mid century modern eames era items.
