Antique Original Early 19th c French Military Officer Cuirassier Helmet w/ Liner:

Condition:

Original 19th c antique, overall good condition for age. Shows age appropriate wear from use and time. All metal construction, outside is brass or gilded brass, and inside is copper. Brim/head area has leather band which has faint remnants of what used to be fur. Has the original chin strap chain and hardware. One side of buckle is missing though as shown. Has small vase like holder to hold a feather? Has boar or coarse horse hair pomp at front, not meant to have a crest, but the back looks like it once held a tail (missing). Has leather bale/liner and copper inside of helmet. Metal has ornate face, and detailing throughout. Very fancy and beautifully made piece.

Stamped at back of helmet with what looks like \"602, MS lt C\" and a unreadable smaller mark next to the C. Looks like similar early 19th c Cuirassier or calvary military officer\'s helmets, but could also possibly be apompier or Sapeur helmet.

Any item sold by the Seattle Goodwill is eligible for local pick up at our warehouse 7 days a week between the hours of 9 a.m. to3:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. to3:30 p.m. on Sundays. Please note that payment must be cleared online prior to pick up, as we are unable to accept cash or process payment at our location.
Local pick up items not claimed within14 days will be relisted without notice and considered a donation.
