Offered for sale is this beautifully hand written in 19th century Ottoman Arabic illuminated Quran.The Quran is hand written and hand painted throughout, is illuminated, including multiple shape medals and ornaments on some pages. There is also gold illumination on some pages.The pages are possibly vellum. The Quran is bound in red leather cover.The scribe or writer of the Quran is currently undentified, as I can\'t read Arabic.The Quran. has 606 pages, including the final four blank pages. It measures approximately 17cm long, 11 cm, and 3.5 cm thick.Paid around the asking price for the Quran, which was brought from a rare book dealer based in Vienna, Austria back in 2011 (still have the receipt). Will be willing to consider a reasonable and serious offer for it. Item Offered for sale is this beautifully hand written in 19th century Ottoman Arabic illuminated Quran.The Quran is hand written and hand painted throughout, is illuminated, including multiple shape medals and ornaments on some pages. There is also gold illumination on some pages.The pages are possibly vellum, and the text is clear. The Quran is bound in red leather cover.The scribe or writer of the Quran is currently undentified, as I can\'t read Arabic. Any suggestions would be gratefully received.The unpacked weight of the Quran is 499 grams.

Age

The Quran dates from the 19th century. As already stated the scribe is currently Quran. has 606 pages, including the final four blank pages. It measures approximately 17cm long, 11 cm, and 3.5 cm thick.

Condition

Good for the age The red leather covers appear to be original. There is some pieces missing on the corners of the first two pages (see images) however the calligraphy is still complete. There is a little fading, staining smudges on some pages, the binding has been repaired at some time and has some wear and ink stains. A few page corners have been creased. However this does not detract from the beauty of the manuscript, especially the calligraphy, and is commensurate with age.The Quran as far as I can see appears to be complete.Paid around the asking price for the Quran, which was brought from a rare book dealer based in Vienna, Austria back in 2011 (still have the receipt). Will be willing to consider a reasonable and serious offer for it.
