\"ONE OF A KIND OTTOMAN GREEK GILT SILVER BUCKLE SULTAN ABDULMECID (1839-1861) TUGHRA MARK ( BONHAMS sale 2012 SALE LOT 77) One of a kind & unique quality handcrafted Tughra marked Mercurygildedsilver 19th century figural buckle.The figural decoration of the buckle consist of potted plant vinewithgrapes bunch and leafs,coveringall the surface of the buckle.Both parts of buckle are marked with all appropriate Ottoman period marks as:Sultan Tughra of Abdulmecid (1823-1861) / Sah mark for 900 grade silver / Sampling Scar (Test sample).( Even the central partdepicting a pot with flowers, which hide the clip, is marked with Sah mark as well).Buckle handcrafted with the \"repousse\" technique,in Constantinople ( Istanbul) during the early Reign of SultanAbdulmecid (1839-1861).It is a gorgeous, one of a kind very attractive antique buckle of early 19th century, inverygood conditioncommensurate age and is keeping in decent level theoriginal gilding of it.For your information buckle was bought at Bonhams sale 2012 with estimation $1300-1900.
