Antique Penny Arcade Strength Tester Coin 1c Op Grip Test Trade Atlas? Gottlieb? For Sale
We located this fantastic antique/ vintage Penny Arcade Strength Tester machine and fell in love with the bright fire engine red color and all the chrome! This machine definately has the look! It is just as we found it, all surfaces are clean and shiny... this machine looks like it did new. We do not havethe key for this machine but the lock looks fairly standard and easy to replace. That being said, there are several pennies inside the machine and we were unable to view the interior mechanisms. The outside red color is smooth, shiny and even. There is some very slight cracking in the red finish on the right side of the machine (pictured) but you have to really look for it to find it. The grip mechanism is super shiny chrome and really looks great! We noticed the dial has a real retro look to it and the curved glass covering it is flawless. Please study the photographs to make a determination on this machine's condition for yourself. This machine would look great onyour office desk, in your vintage shop or man cave!
As stated, this machine is just as we found it. It was purchased from a gentleman's estate who focused his collection on vending machines of allsorts. We did not receive anyfurther information on this machine so we are unable to determine if this machine has been restored or if ithas original paint, ect.During our research of this machine, it appears that it could either be an Atlas or Gottlieb brand (they appear to be very similar) made in the 1930s through the 1940's. We also learned that replacement decals are easily and inexpensively found if its new owner desired.
We are not sure how this machine properly works but- with this machine, you place a penny in the slot, give a tug to the rod on the back of the machine and then when you squeeze the grip handles together, the arrow on the dial moves. We noticed that once your grip strength reaches 150 on the dial, a bell inside the machine sounds. This is certainly a beautiful machine and could definately be the center of many conversations with your friends!

If an item works (electronics, clocks, items with moving parts, ect) we will clearly state that in our ad. Some of our ads will say “We can’t guarantee this item works, but we can’t see any reason why it wouldn’t”. We are not attempting to “trick” anyone- We are stating honestly that we do not have the knowledge whether or not an item works like it should or not and buyers should offer accordingly.
Some, if not most, working clocks need adjustments after being shipped. Please keep that in mind when offerding.
We sale postcards in large lots on a fairly routine basis. We cannot except or entertain requests for returns for any reason on lots of postcards. We cannot record every single card in every lot thererfore if we excepted returns, that opens us up to the possibility that someone could buy a big lot, remove just the cards they wanted and return the rest for a full return. So if you have any questions about postcards, please ask. And again, keep in mind that my antique postcards are very old and made of paper. We try to separate badly damaged postcards fromour lots but given their age, there may be writing, blemishes, bent corners, writing, creases, small tears, ect. We separate and photograph the postcards we sell into groups of like subjects to get the most out of the limited photos in our ads.It is a random selection and represent a general idea of what cards the lots contains. We do not intentionally photograph any specific cards, good or bad.
Shipping costs are calculated to include the cost of shipping, any boxes, packing supplies (such as bubble wrap, tape, ect,) and a 10% addition to final shipping costs to cover the policy regarding “Final Value on Shipping”.
