Vintage Antique Pacific Islands Tapa Tonga Tree Bark Cloth 54\"x 60\" Oceania Tribal Folk Art
Authentic Tapa barkcloth from the south Pacific Island regions. Measures 54” long by 60” wide. Very prominent and appears to be quite old. These were made using layers of bark fibers that were pounded together to form a bark cloth that was then stamped using natural inks to create a intriguing pattern. Beautiful example of Pacific Island tribal arts & craft. In good condition with two corners in rough shape, no repairs, edge fraying and small tears in the ends. Would look great framed in any Polynesian or South Pacific island decor.I try to describe the items as best as I can.
