The whole cloth side is beautifully finely stitched with detailed corners and central square detail.It is c reamy white.The reverse has been a stunning quilt with appliqued bird in centre of patchwork side. However there are many areas of distressed fabric where the wool is coming through.It is warm and lightweight and similar to one in the v and A quilt exhibition.It may be described as a coverlet or bed cover and dates around 1800 I would say.It is very lightweight and finely stitched.
