~ ALICE~

We were just told by a wonderful doll collector that this darling doll could have been produced by F. M. Schilling,J.D.Kestner or Cuno and Otto Dresselall from Germany. Her pretty long hair andblue dress are similar to Alice’s in Alice in Wonderland so we are calling herAlice.

Alice is a really sweet28\" antique papier mache and composition doll. She has a papier mache shoulderhead and a composition body.

HEAD Alicehas amazing large blue glass fixed eyes and multi-stroke eyelashes and brows. She has a pretty face and huge eyes! Her bowed deep pinklips are closed and she has a dimple in her chin. She is wearing an old reddishblonde wig. It is marked “Human Hair.”

CLOTHING Alice is wearing a newer cornflower bluedress. It has pretty crocheted lace trim and a full skirt with a big bow. Shealso has a blue bow in her hair. Her half-slip and bloomers are newer. Some ofher vintage underclothing is sewn on. Alice has vintage stockings and newer shoes.

BODY Alice has an old most likely original repairedcloth/muslin torso, upper arms and legs.Her body is stuffed stiffly with straw or excelsior. Her lower arms andlegs are very heavy composition. We read that composition before 1919 was quiteheavy. She is jointed at the shoulders and hips. She sits very nicely whenpropped up.

SIZE This large doll measures about 28 inchestall. She can be displayed sitting or standing. The stand in the photos wasused for photography only and is not included.

CONDITION Our Alice is a very pretty antique doll withamazing big blue eyes and a pretty smile! Her blue dress is beautiful and looksgreat on her. Her face shows wear and has rubs especially on her left cheek. She has small cracks andcrazing to her head and chips on her fingers and toes. Her repaired cloth bodyis in fair to good vintage condition. You can see the cloth tape and newerfabric that was used to fix her torso. One arm needs to be restitched at hershoulder. See photos for more details. With a little TLC from her new owner,Alice will be really lovely! She is delightful and displays very nicely!

We ship through the United States Postal Service, and we try to offer our customers the most appropriate postage options. We obtain a tracking number for each mailing.
SHIPPING CHARGES: Our basic shipping charge is set to cover postage and shipping materials, plus a small handling charge. We purchase postal.insurance for more expensive items, and requires Signature Confirmation delivery for items costing $750 or more. In some cases, we will require Signature Confirmation for certain items costing less. We add these costs to the total shipping charge for more expensive listings. If a shipping charge estimate is too high, we refund the appropriate amount to the customer after we have shipped the item and verified the actual cost.
COMBINED SHIPPING: We are usually able to offer combined shipping discounts. Assuming that multiple items can be appropriately shipped in one box, we begin with the charge for the heaviest item and add between $1 and $5 for extra items, depending on weight and additional packing material needed. The added charge could be more for unusually heavy or large items.
International customers: We are happy to offer combined shipping discounts to international buyers. The added charge for extra items can be higher than in the case of domestic shipping due to higher postage rates.Customers may contact us for combined shipping estimates.
INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS: offerding from international customers is welcome! We accept PayPal payments only from other countries; we do not accept checks or currency. As noted above, we will combine shipping for international customers whenever possible and include the savings in our shipping charge on the invoice. We ship using Priority International Mail through the US Postal Service if a package weighs four pounds or more. When it weighs less, we also offer First Class International as an option. Please be aware that Priority International packages can be tracked while still in the United States, and they can be insured. First Class International cannot be insured, and so the customer assumes a risk for this less expensive choice. Also, please be aware that we do not mark items as \"gifts\" or report lower sales values on customs forms.
Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer\'s responsibility. Please check with your country\'s customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to offerding or buying.

RETURN POLICY: Returns are accepted for refund within a 14-day period of the receipt of the merchandise.
