Here we have a lovelyexample of antique early Victorianpewter metalware.This fabricated pewter mustard pot was manufactured by James Dixon and Sons and is stamped with this name on the base, dating it to around 1840.
The mustard pot has a lobed and ribbed body, reminiscent of the shape of a pot bellied pewter tankard,and a hinged lid. It is footed and has a scroll handle.It stands approx 4 incheshigh and has a base diameter of 2 1/8ths inches. It weighs 209g unpacked.It is in good condition with the patination you would expect of an antique pewter item.It has the usual small marks and dents you would expect of an item of this age and use.
