Antique Pewter Tankard Tudric English Liberty 066 Archibald Knox c.1902 original:
$124.95
An Art Nouveau, English pewter tankard. It is very well-marked, \"Tudric\" English Pewter, Liberty & Co. 066. These are usually associated with Archibald Knox. The name Tudric was developed by Liberty & Company, but it quickly became generic and is used by a variety of companies.
The condition is very good. There is a light patina. There is none of the heavy build-up or crust that is often found on older pewter. There are a few small signs of use that I have described below. When examined closely, some tiny, delicately executed hammer marks can be detected near the lower rim toward the back of one side. This appears to represent a careful repair or it was part of the construction process. It is hardly noticeable and shows that the tankard has been a valued and probably cherished object. On the opposite side there is a very shallow indentation. My photographs display all sides.
Height - 4 and 1/4 inches.
