This most uncommon form is almost certainly a humidor as it has double wall construction in an octagonal form with steeple brass finial knob in the gothic taste. It measures 10 ½” tall x 8 ¾” (point to point on the base) and bears bold hand painted HHS monogram with foliate sprigs and roses in gold. The surface is original and unenhanced with obvious wear and stable paint. The inside has extra heavy zinc plate, further evidence of its use in contact with moisture.
