Primitive Folk Art Hand Carved Oxen and Cart Original Paint New EnglandThis is a wonderful piece of folk art. Two hand carved and painted oxen, with a hand crafted blue painted cart, connected by a carved yoke. Purchased this at a local fleamarket from a gentleman who was just selling contents from a local estate he was emptying.This still has dust it\'s collected over its age. Original patina. ..Please review the photos there are some areas of paint loss to the oxen, at their leg attachments mostly, but they are on tight.. just showing signs of play. Only negatives I find, One ear is replaced, the wheels are loose, attached by nails. One ox is missing his leather tail.
Overall Great Antique American folk art with wonderful character and charm. Fresh to the market. Measurements: Each oxen approx. 7” long and 4 1/2” tall. The cart measures 13” overall length by 4 1/2”w.W/ oxen hitched to cart overall length is 14 1/4”Please ask any questions prior to offerding. Thanks for viewing.
