Up for sale from my collection a wonderful example of a tin match safe in its original red paint. The match safe has a great form with a embossed design on the back and it retains a lot of the red paint considering the age , 19th century, and the use. On the bottom is the striker which was used to light the match. The match safe is in very good condition and does show expected wear from age. There is a shallow dent on the back of the piece but this doesn\'t show when match safe is hanging on the wall and the match safe is missing one small ring which holds the lid in place but this doesn\'t effect the function as the lid opens and closes easily.There is a small area of light surface rust on the bottom by the striker. A great antique match safe in red paint that would be nice for your home.The match safe measures 4 1/2 across and 2 3/4 inches tall. Thanks for your interest !
