Neat Pair of Primitive Country Wooden Cotton Carders --- #10

This salefeatures a neat antique pair of Whittemorewooden cotton carders. Carding untangles wool or cotton fibers so they can bewoven into cloth. The paddles were made in Leicester, Massachusetts, I believeby L.S. Watson Co. Markings on eachpiece are: \"Improved, No. 10, XX, Cotton\". The printing below this isfaint. They are made of maple, with steel tines secured by leather strips.Condition is good for the age and use. Size of each paddle is 10¾\' by 4½\".The handles are 4¾\" long. If you collect primitive country pieces,&/or are into spinning, this set would make a great addition to yourcollection.
