Condition:excellent,collectible,99.9% originalbluing,working mechanics, lens with no scratches-sharp view,not typical for 100 or more years scope.(I think was made between 1900-1925)Dr.Carl Leiss produced optic instruments,binoculars and rifle scopes in Germany(Berlin-Steigltz)prior to World War I for use on sporting,huntig rifles.With the onset of the war, Carl Leiss scopes, along with many other previously manufactured sporting rifle scopes, were adapted by the German Army for use on their Scharfschutzen-Gewehr 98 Sniping Rifles.
