For your consideration - an antique vegetable serving dish with matching lid from Rosenthal Selb-Bavaria - This dish is pure white with a 3/8\" gold rim around the outside rim of the lid in the pattern of laurel leaves - gold on gold. Thehandles are an Art Deco shape, splitting into open triangles at the top on each side. The bottom rim is scalloped and goes into 6 separate feet all around. The bottom rim is also embellished with gold.
The matching lid matches the bowl. It has the laurel embellished band around the outside rim, and a stylized gold handle.
The bowl is 8 1/4\" in diameter x 2 1/4\" high. The lid is 8 3/4\" in diameter.
This piece came from my grandmother\'s house. She was an antique dealer who created a mixed set of china for her personal use. This pattern was part of her set. She also used Haviland,LimogesGreek Key, even some Japanese (Nippon) pieces.All of them were pure white with a 1/4\" gold trim around the rim. Grandma had an antique store for 35-40 years, and lived to be 104. She was retired for about 30 years before she died. (All this to help you date the china). No doubt, the dishes were old when she got them, because that is all she liked. She defined an antique as anything over 100 years old.
