Lovely Russian icon of Jesus on a donkey entering Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, circa mid to late 19th century. Hand painted on metal, then mounted to a cloth coveredpiece of wood.

Heavy use of gold gilt, gorgeous, well executed artistry! Titled to the front with writing to twoof the outsideedges, ...please zoom photos, as I cannot translate!

Measures 12 1/4\" in height by 10 1/2\" in width.

I am not an expert on icons, but appears to be in good condition fora hand painted item of this age.Cloth is loose from the wood on the back. Please see all photos as to condition.
