You are offerding on an antique 18th-19th century Icon painted on glass. It is from Transylvania-Romania from around Sibiu City where this technique developed in 17th century and ended towards 1900 but also possibly from Bohemia where this art was practiced and a large comunity of German lived. The language on the Icon is German and that is because the largest community of Germans in Transylvania lived along with Romanians around Sibiu starting with 12th century. There is a museum dedicated to these icons in Sibiel near Sibiu They are very rare and usually go well above $2000. This one is in decent condition. It was framed in Germany sometimes in the early 20th century probably and still has a label on the back. It measures 12-1/2 by 9-1/4 with frame. A very nice early work of naive religious art. and have fun... and offer high:-)
