This is a magnificent andimpressive, 1887, rare, Royal Worcester, gilt dolphin handled ewer, hand painted by Charley Baldwyn, with two stunning raised floral sprays of gilt and brown flowers, raised brown and jewelled gilt highlighted foliage, fabulous gilt ornate dolphin handle, gilt banding with ringed fluted and sculptured slender waisted neck, against a beautiful matt ivoryground.

MostCharley Baldwyn ewers are onpastel blue or blush ivory backgrounds, this onesunusualbeingan early pieceandon a lovely neutral ivorybackground. It\'s very rare to find a hand painted floral design by Charley Baldwynandthis is certainly one of the best,I\'veseen (nice muted pastel colours) it\'ll easily fit into most modern day house colour schemes.

As you can see from myphotographs the workmanship in this eweris truly exquisite.This is a rare opportunity to own, a truly superb CharleyBaldwyn Royal Worcester floral leaf and gilt ewer,in absolutely fabulous original condition.

The base hastheprinted puce crown and circle mark ofRoyal Worcester, (Rd no 43555), pattern number 1136 first designed in 1885, plusthe date letterY for the year 1887. This ewer is signed with thedistinctiveredsquiggleinitial. A common Charley Baldwyn signature trademark.

It\'s hard to believe this exquisite delicateewer has been througha couple World wars,is 127 years old, andisstill infabulous undamaged original condition,a real joy to behold, whoever purchases this, will not be disappointed.

Worked for Royal Worcesterbetween 1874-1909.Royal Worcester artists were encouraged to develop their own specialist subject and Charley Baldwyn\'s was birds in flightmainly swans. Hespecialised in moonlight scenes.Charley Baldwynalsoenjoyed paintingwatercolours andsome of his work was exhibited at the Royal Academy.
