Stunning red and white Tree of Life, or Tree of Paradise quilt. Hand pieced and densely hand quilted. 19th c. Maybe even mid 19th century. I\'m not an expert. The triangles in the trees, or they kind of look like arrows?, are TINY. Each tree has about 135 little pieces. All hand stitched together to make this fabulous graphic statement. The hand quilting is done in parallel lines on the pieced blocks, about 5/8\" apart. The setting blocks are quilted with a grid, again about 5/8\" apart. WOW. There are a couple tiny stains, and a couple loose threads. I\'ve tried to take photos of any \"problems\" I found. All in all, the quilt is in great condition. The white fabric shows some age or storage staining, but not bad--and it is consistent over the whole piece. The binding, made by bringing the backing to the front and sewing it down, shows wear. I do love a nice red and white quilt.... This one is 75\" by 64\"
